Early Childhood Educational Content: Learn in Sign Language, Grow Through Play

SignTong Edu is a series of early childhood educational content based on Korean Sign Language.

It is designed to enable hearing parents and deaf children, as well as deaf parents and hearing children, to learn sign language together and communicate effectively.

Focusing on themes linked to the national curriculum for children aged 3–5 (Nuri Curriculum), the content allows children to naturally learn sign language through play.

It provides the first steps toward understanding Deaf culture and society through methods such as conversing in sign language with children, reading books in sign language, and exploring various everyday stories.

Structure and Use of SignTong Edu

Parent Guide

Every learning video begins with a Parent Guide on the first screen. Before watching, refer to the guide to check what to prepare and any precautions. It provides instructions for parents on how to communicate with their child, helping sign language learning occur naturally at home.

Themed Learning Videos

Each topic consists of four activities. You can watch them in order or start with the video that interests your child the most. The topics—such as play, daily life, emotions, and nature—are aligned with the Nuri Curriculum and stimulate both language and emotional development.

Language Acquisition Through Play

Sign language is both a language and a means of communication. The most effective way to learn is for both hearing and deaf individuals to be frequently exposed to a sign language environment. At home, just like the interactions between teachers and children in the videos, engage in repeated conversations with your child using sign language.

Recommended Features to Use Together
