Making web content understandable in sign language—at the moment you click
[ Why Is This Needed? ]
Websites are a primary gateway for accessing public information, knowledge, and services.
However, most web content is delivered through long and complex written text, which can become a barrier for Deaf users.
There is an important difference between being able to read text and being able to fully understand its meaning.
In particular, websites related to public services and policy information may be accessible in theory,
but in practice, they are often difficult to understand.
SignTong Web was created so that when sign language support is needed, users can select only the relevant parts
and understand them clearly and easily through sign language.
[ How Is It Used? ]
Digitally Integrated Sign Language–Accessible Web Service
▲ Example: Digital Government Knowledge Platform
The Digital Government Knowledge Platform provides national knowledge and public information.
To improve information accessibility and understanding, SignTong Web accessibility services were applied.
As Deaf users navigate the website, they can click on sentences or sections that require clarification,
and a sign language avatar instantly appears to explain the selected content on screen.
Rather than converting all content at once, users can choose only the parts they need—
allowing them to access information without disrupting their natural browsing flow.
→ A web environment where users can understand content on demand, at their own pace, through sign language.
[ What Changes? ]
A new way of understanding web information
Instead of relying solely on text, users can instantly check key content in sign language.
Goes beyond formal compliance to provide real, user-centered accessibility.
Increased trust in public websites
Clear, understandable information strengthens the role of websites as public knowledge platforms.
Expandable across diverse environments
Applicable to public services, education, culture, and corporate websites alike.
