Enabling independent understanding and use—without assistance.
[ Why Is This Needed? ]
Kiosks are important digital touchpoints widely used in public institutions, airports, hospitals, and retail environments.
However, most kiosks rely heavily on audio guidance and complex text-based interfaces, making them difficult to use for Deaf users.
When assistance from staff is unavailable, the experience can become inconvenient or even inaccessible.
SignTong Kiosk was developed to ensure that Deaf users can independently understand guidance and complete transactions through sign language.
[ How Is It Used? ]
① LG Electronics Customer Center Barrier-Free Kiosk
▲ Barrier-Free Kiosk at LG Electronics Customer Service Center
LG Electronics has installed SignTong-powered barrier-free kiosks at its customer service centers.
Customers can submit service requests, check repair status, confirm product purchases and repair fees.
During the process, a sign language avatar appears alongside the main steps, providing guidance in sign language.
This enables Deaf users to complete service procedures independently, without waiting for staff assistance.
② IFC Mall Barrier-Free Information Kiosk
At IFC Mall in Yeouido, a barrier-free information kiosk has been introduced
in a space with high daily visitor traffic.
With SignTong applied, the kiosk provides floor guides, store information,
event announcements, and parking information through sign language.
Deaf visitors can understand information independently and accurately,
without relying on nearby assistance.
[ What Changes? ]
Independent completion of service processes
Deaf users can navigate kiosk steps and complete services without assistance.
Information can be selected and confirmed independently.
Improved customer experience
Accessibility enhances overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Barrier-free kiosks reinforce public trust and inclusive brand values.
